Parent Volunteers

PARENTS!
First, thank you for coming last night, it was great to see SO many familiar faces. The girls are looking good aren't they?
We need help with the concession stand for football games. You do not need clearances as far as we've been told. It is very important that we have one adult from each cheerleader help out once. Only one time would cover almost half the season! And remember if you're a V parent and want to make sure you can watch your child cheer, sign up for a Jr H game and visa versa.

Calendar Updates

Due to some game changes and trying to work with our cheerleaders who participate in multiple sports there have been changes made to the September and October calendars.
Mostly JR H games are now Wednesdays, which before they were a mix of Wednesdays and Thursdays. This moves practice to Wednesdays, with an occasional Thursday. Mondays didn't change.
JR H will not be doing double headers, instead they will do two Freshmen games.
Competition fluctuates between Mondays and Wednesdays in order to accommodate games for our dual sport athletes.

Beginning Monday August 31, 2015, every Monday practice will include a half hour study hall. Location is TBD. You will meet at the team room in your school clothes and we will go to the study hall location together. You must have work. If you don't have homework or a project, bring a book. Phones will not be permitted to be out.

3PM Practices begin next week! Both 8/25 and 8/27 are 3-5pm and then 8/25 Competition has practice until 6pm. There is no Jr H Game next week, that has been moved to a scrimmage.

The girls will receive paper schedules next Tuesday, for both September and October.

Fundraising

Sandwich forms went home on Thursday. If you need an additional form see Coach Jones.
Checks are made payable to Eastern York Booster Club.
All monies and forms are due September 3rd, 2015.

ALSO:
Reminder football practice is Tuesday from 5-7pm, and Comp is 7-8pm.
Thursday is uniform distribution. WE WILL PRACTICE. This is a change from what I said at practice. We will practice from 5-6 ALL SQUADS, and then 6-7pm Jr H will get uniforms and Competition will stunt. JV may leave at 6pm, or stay and help stunt.
Reminder, this week begins official season. If you daughter misses practice for any reason, besides not being in school or does not have a note to me or Coach Grazer beforehand, they will face a consequence. This could be as little as running extra laps, and as much as being benched at a game. Be there, and be on time.

Announcements

Wear your blue tshirts and gold shorts tomorrow!  Blue bows for high school!

1. IT'S PAPERWORK WEEK
If you are missing any paperwork you will be notified Monday August 17th. You will not be able to participate after that date. Please make sure if you are still missing paperwork (which MANY of you are) that it is turned in to the office this week.

2. The athletes are being asked by the booster club to sell discount cards to local businesses. The cost is $20. Each cheerleader is expected to sell two cards. They will have from Tuesday at practice until 9/22/15 to sell both cards.

3. Cheerleading will be doing a sandwich sale to help offset the cost of the new varsity uniforms (which Coach Grazer and I saw and they are so nice!). Ashley Gotwalt has graciously stepped up to help run the event. All levels of squad are expected to help sell since these uniforms will be ours for the next five to six years. The girls will have three weeks to sell, paperwork will be sent home Tuesday evening.

4. September 2 is Meet The Team Night. Each family that attends is expected to provide a covered dish, a salad, or a dessert. Dinner is for ALL the cheerleaders, football players, and band members and their FAMILIES. This is a great night to see what the girls have been working on all summer. Come out and cheer for our girls!

5. There have been a couple changes to the September calendar, please take a look! There was a game added on September 25th and a practice moved the first week of September.

Last week of preseason! Get ready, football is COMING!

2015 Camp Information

Camp begins promptly at 9am on August 3rd, 5th, and 7th 2015.
Jr H, JV, and Varsity should arrive at 8:55am.

Camp is being held at the Lower Windsor Township Rec Building- transportation will not be provided by the school district, see our facebook page to carpool with other parents.

Jr H and JV will be dismissed at 11am and Varsity/ Competition will remain until 1pm.
Bring water and NO JEWELRY. We will be stunting every day.

All clothes and bows are in, they will be distributed at practice on Thursday July 30th.

Varsity clothing order
MONDAY: Pink shirt, Black Shorts, White Bow
WEDNESDAY: Eat Sleep Cheer shirt, Navy Shorts, White Bow
FRIDAY: Eastern shirt, Gold Shorts, Navy Bow  (All Cheerleaders should wear their new tees)

If you are missing Thursday's practice I will have your items in a bag for you Monday morning, be prepared to change if you're Varsity.

Shoes will be in the third week of August. The comp shoe is back ordered.

Practice Cancelled July 9th 2015

As always safety is our main priority. Tonight WGAL has the radar showing strong storms in our area from 5:30-6:15pm. If this slows down at all it will soak our practice, also with wet grass we don't want any overturned ankles. Therefore tonight's practice is canceled. I will post a video here, and on facebook tomorrow AM with the cheers we learned Tuesday (to review) and cheers from tonight's practice.

Parent Meeting

Our Mandatory Parent Meeting was Tuesday June 30th.
We reviewed rules, went over order forms, and discussed camp. If you missed the meeting paperwork will be available at practice. We will not be reviewing it. If your contract is not signed you will not practice. Order Forms are also due.

Current Announcements

Tumbling Class Information: The class will run 6 WEEKS at $60. The gym is closed for their nationals the last two weeks. Beginning May 11 & 12 MONDAYS 7-8PM OR TUESDAYS 7:30-8:30 at GoY Manchester. Choose one or the other.
Monday is Miss Michaela and Tuesday is Mr. Justin Monday is more advanced and Tuesday is a bit slower. But they will help you with whatever you need either day. Only 8-10 girls per class! This will be ONLY Eastern girls. Focus is on you!
Paperwork will be available in the office on Wednesday. All forms must be turned in by FRIDAY 5/8. Checks will be taken at class, not before.
